ABSTRACT

Epilepsy is a common neurological disease, which requires long-term seizure control with medication. As a particular population, breastfeeding safety and the use of antiepileptic drugs during breastfeeding are significant concerns for those at childbearing age, as it involves maternal health and the growth and development of the offspring. This article reviews the latest evidence regarding breastfeeding in women with epilepsy as a reference for clinicians.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the effect of a Chinese medicine Zhengqingfengtongning on the expression of aggrecanase-1(ADAMTs-4)and aggrecanase-2(ADAMTs-5)in cartilage tissue of knee joint in rabbit models of osteoarthritis, and to study the mechanism of action of Zhengqingfengtongning in treatment for osteoarthritis. Methods 32 New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into the observation group and the model group, and 16 healthy New Zealand rabbits were chosen as the blank group. The blank group did not receive the intervention treatment, the model group received physiological saline in gastric gavage, the observation group was given the Zhengqingfengtongning by gastric gavage. The soft tissue samples of knee joint in the three groups were taken at 4 weeks after drug intervention. The joint morphology, joint fluid and articular cartilage were observed by histopathology. The ADAMTs-4 and ADAMTs-5 mRNA were detected by RT-PCR. The data were then statistically analyzed. Results The grades of articular cartilage and Mankin's score of the model group were significantly higher than those of the observation group and blank group, the grades of articular cartilage and Mankin's score of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the blank group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P< 0.05). The ADAMTs-4 and ADAMTs-5 mRNA expressions of the model group were significantly higher than those of the observation group and blank group. The ADAMTs-4 and ADAMTs-5 mRNA expressions of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the blank group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P< 0.05). Conclusions The Zhengqingfengtongning can improve the degree of joint lesions in osteoarthritis animal models, which may be related to inhibiting the expression of ADAMTs-4 and ADAMTs-5.

ABSTRACT

Walking disorder is the most common sequela in patients with hemiplegia after stroke.More than half of stroke patients can not walk independently after discharge, and still present a gait asymmetry and slow pace, and other abnormalities. Then, the fall risk is increased. With security concerns, patients are more afraid to walk independently and can not complete the walk in community environment. Therefore, gait rehabilitation is considered as the main goal of stroke rehabilitation.Rhythmic auditory stimulation(RAS)is a new rehabilitation method to improve stroke gait.By elucidating the mechanism of RAS and their effects on stroke gait, the aim of this paper is to explore the effective RAS treatment method for hemiplegic patients,so that RAS is not only used in gait training, but also in real-time assessment of gait in any environment for chronic stroke patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the clinical effect of autologous platelet-rich plasma ( PRP) combined with closed reduction and hol-low screw internal fixation for femoral neck fracture .Methods Totally 200 cases of femoral neck fracture were collected from May 2010 to August 2014 in our hospital .Randomly divided them into two groups , namely the PRP group and the control group , with 100 patients in each group. The PRP group were given autologous platelet-rich plasma ( PRP) combined with closed reduction and hollow screw internal fixation , while the control group were given closed reduction and hollow screw internal fixation merely .The length of stay , time of fracture healing , wound healing state , postoperative complications rate , Harris score and functional recovery of the two group were recorded and evaluated .Re-sults The average hospitalization time and fracture healing time in the PRP group were shorter than the control group .The A-grade recovery rate of the PRP group was higher than the control group , and the postoperative femoral head necrosis and nonunion rate of the PRP group were lower than that in the control group (P<0.05).The Harris score of PRP group were 87.35 and 90.82 respectively, and the excellent rate of hip function 6 months and 12 months after operation were 86%and 90%respectively .They were both higher than the control group with statistical significance (P<0.05).Conclusion PRP combined with closed reduction and hollow screw internal fixation can significant -ly shorten the healing time , reduce postoperative complications , improve hip function and postoperative quality of life in treating femoral neck fracture, and it is of high safety and efficacy.
